- The Festival is celebrating 34 years at Downtown Disney® in 2009.
- In 1979 Walt Disney World® Resort introduced the
"Masters" concept to the fifth year of an increasingly popular event
then known as the "Art Festival in the Village."
- The Fine Art was moved from Downtown Disney® Marketplace to Downtown Disney® West Side in 2002.
- To qualify for Festival of the Masters, artists must have earned a
primary award in a juried art festival within the last three years.
Prospective exhibitors submit award verification and slides of their
works to a jury of art experts, who then have the formidable task of
reviewing the slides and selecting the participants. This process
ensures that Guests to the Festival will be treated to one of the
finest displays of art in the nation. Hence, Festival of the Masters
has become one of the most sought-after shows among artists.
